Job Purpose
The Health Officer (Mental Health) provides technical, operational, and administrative support to the Health Programme in Brazil. This role involves assisting throughout the programming process, from planning to results delivery. The officer will prepare, execute, manage, and implement various technical and administrative tasks to facilitate programme development, monitor progress, and evaluate and report on outcomes. The position aims to ensure the right to health for every child, with a specific focus on mental health and supporting vulnerable populations within the country's diverse regions.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Health and Nutrition, the Health Officer (Mental Health) will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the Health Programme within the Country Programme. This includes development planning, execution, management, and implementation of a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks. The role facilitates programme development, progress monitoring, and the evaluation and reporting of results. Key responsibilities include applying knowledge of adolescent development and mental health, designing and implementing evidence-based programs, analyzing data, producing technical documents, and managing projects from planning to delivery. The officer will also engage in advocacy, policy dialogue, and apply innovative solutions to service delivery, while coordinating cross-sectorally and building capacity.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in mental health, adolescent health, or public health planning and management is required. Experience in advocacy, policy dialogue, applying digital solutions, advanced Monitoring & Evaluation, cross-sector coordination, capacity building, and working with diverse or resource-constrained settings is also required.
