Job Purpose
Under the guidance of the Representative, the Programme Manager is accountable for the overall management of UNICEF's programme in Paraguay. The role is crucial for achieving UNICEF's strategic priorities for children in the country. Responsibilities
The Programme Manager will be responsible for knowledge management related to programmes, ensuring that lessons learned and best practices are captured and disseminated. They will lead programme development and management, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals and the Country Programme. A key responsibility is the optimum use of programme funds, ensuring efficient allocation and expenditure. The role includes rigorous programme monitoring to track progress against objectives and identify any necessary adjustments. The Programme Manager will champion a rights-based and results-based approach to programme management, ensuring that all activities uphold children's rights and deliver measurable outcomes. They will also focus on national and local capacity building to ensure the sustainability of programme interventions. Furthermore, the role involves advocating for children's rights from a rights perspective at national, community, and family levels. Strengthening social protection systems and public financing for children is another critical area of responsibility. Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in programme management, preferably in a developing country context. Experience in child-focused programmes is highly desirable.
