Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the Primero platform, UNICEF’s flagship product for child protection case management and incident monitoring. Primero is a critical component for strengthening systems, ensuring do-no-harm principles, coordinating responses, and stewarding a fit-for-purpose digital public good. The platform currently serves over 350 partners, including governments, UN agencies, and civil society organizations, providing a safe and user-friendly solution for data management for frontline protection workers. In 2025, over 2 million children and survivors of violence received digitally enabled services through Primero, making it a significant data source in the child protection sector. The consultant will contribute to the continued development, rollout, and support of this vital tool.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the Primero platform, UNICEF’s child protection case management and information management system. This includes contributing to the rollout process in new programming contexts, ensuring a strong case management foundation is established. The consultant will assist in providing technical assistance to Country Offices, Regional Offices, and government partners utilizing the Primero platform. They will also be involved in monitoring the platform's performance, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the resolution of technical issues. Furthermore, the consultant will contribute to community engagement efforts, working with the over 350 partners who rely on Primero for their frontline protection workers. This role involves ensuring the platform remains a safe, user-friendly, and reliable solution for data management, supporting the delivery of meaningful progress for child protection and social services workforces globally. The consultant will also support the normative leadership and partnership stewardship aspects related to the platform.
Work Experience
At least two years of professional experience in information management systems, case management, child protection, or a related field. Experience with digital public goods and supporting large-scale rollouts is desirable.
