Job Purpose
The Information Management Officer will manage the Information Management (IM) function at the national level and support subnational coordination groups. This role is crucial for ensuring IM processes effectively contribute to a well-coordinated, strategic, adequate, coherent, and effective response by participants in Cluster/Sector/Working Groups, accountable to those affected by the emergency. The officer will be part of the Cluster Coordination team, responsible for managing the collection, analysis, and sharing of essential information. This data will enable national Cluster/Sector/Working Group participants to make informed, evidence-based, strategic decisions and ensure adequate coordination at the national level, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of humanitarian response efforts for children and adolescents in Venezuela.
Responsibilities
Manage the Information Management (IM) function at the national level and provide support to subnational coordination groups as agreed with Cluster Coordinators. Ensure IM processes effectively contribute to a well-coordinated, strategic, adequate, coherent, and effective response by participants in Cluster/Sector/Working Groups, accountable to those affected by the emergency. Manage the collection, analysis, and sharing of information essential for national Cluster/Sector/Working Group participants to make informed, evidence-based, strategic decisions. Ensure adequate coordination at the national level. Support the Cluster Coordination team in enabling an efficient and effective response to humanitarian needs. Develop and maintain IM tools and platforms for data collection, analysis, and visualization. Facilitate information sharing among cluster members and other humanitarian actors. Train and mentor national and subnational IM focal points. Ensure data quality and integrity. Prepare regular IM products, such as situation reports, dashboards, and infographics. Contribute to contingency planning and preparedness activities related to IM. Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in humanitarian IM.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in information management, data analysis, or a related field is required. Experience in a humanitarian or development context is an asset.
