Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Chief of the Nutrition Section, as a Nutrition Specialist (Food Systems) – TA, you will support the development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition-sensitive food systems interventions, particularly within the framework of the First Foods Africa initiative and national priorities for child, adolescent, and women's nutrition. You will support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and partnerships aimed at improving access for populations, especially children, adolescents, and women, to safe, nutritious, affordable, and sustainable diets. You will contribute to integrating nutrition into food systems, public policies, and multisectoral programs, while strengthening national capacities, regulatory frameworks, partnerships, and innovative approaches to prevent all forms of malnutrition and promote more resilient and nutrition-sensitive food systems.
Responsibilities
Key functions and responsibilities include: Support for program development and planning. Program management, monitoring, and delivery of results. Technical and operational support for implementation. Partnerships and coordination. Support for policies and regulations. Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building. The incumbent will support the development and implementation of programs, policies, and partnerships aimed at improving access for populations, especially children, adolescents, and women, to safe, nutritious, affordable, and sustainable diets. They will contribute to integrating nutrition into food systems, public policies, and multisectoral programs, while strengthening national capacities, regulatory frameworks, partnerships, and innovative approaches to prevent all forms of malnutrition and promote more resilient and nutrition-sensitive food systems.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in nutrition, public health, food systems, or a related area is required. Experience in program planning, implementation, and monitoring is essential. Experience working with government counterparts and international organizations is desirable.
