Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the planning, coordination, dissemination, and strategic visibility of communications, storytelling, and engagement outputs linked to the Intergenerational Governance and Participation (IGP) team and related youth participation, foresight, climate education, and governance initiatives implemented by UNICEF Innocenti. Building on earlier phases, the consultant will support the continued development and implementation of communications, advocacy, dissemination, and engagement strategies across interconnected IGP workstreams, with a focus on the Youth Fellowship on Climate Education. This role aims to strengthen the visibility, coherence, and strategic amplification of IGP initiatives and outputs by supporting communications planning, storytelling, dissemination activities, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge translation processes across global learning, policy, and partnership platforms. The consultancy will also support UNICEF Innocenti’s broader work on youth participation, intergenerational governance, climate education, foresight, and anticipatory governance.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, dissemination, and strategic visibility of communications and engagement outputs for the Intergenerational Governance and Participation (IGP) team. This includes developing and implementing communications, advocacy, dissemination, and engagement strategies across IGP workstreams, particularly for the Youth Fellowship on Climate Education. Key tasks involve strengthening the visibility and strategic amplification of IGP initiatives through communications planning, compelling storytelling, and effective dissemination activities. The role requires supporting stakeholder engagement and knowledge translation processes across global learning, policy, and partnership platforms. The consultant will produce a range of communications products such as briefs, reports, digital content, and advocacy materials, translating complex research into accessible narratives. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate communications with diverse stakeholders, including youth networks and partners, and support events and global moments from a communications perspective, contributing to UNICEF Innocenti’s broader work on youth participation and climate education.
Work Experience
Minimum of 4–6 years of professional experience in communications, public engagement, advocacy, or knowledge management is required, preferably within international development, climate, or youth-focused initiatives. Proven experience in developing and implementing communications plans, dissemination strategies, and multichannel campaigns is essential.
