Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to assist in the realization of the SMART survey 2026 in Guinea. The general objective of this survey is to assess the nutritional status of children under five years of age, as well as the factors contributing to malnutrition. This includes examining morbidities such as diarrhea, fever, and ARI, vaccination coverage, vitamin A supplementation coverage from the last national campaign preceding the survey, and Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices.
Responsibilities
The consultant will support the implementation of the SMART survey by assisting in data collection, management, and analysis. This includes contributing to the development of survey tools, training data collectors, overseeing data entry, and ensuring data quality. The consultant will be involved in the management of data, including cleaning and preparing datasets for analysis. They will also assist in the statistical analysis of the collected data and contribute to the drafting of the survey report. The role requires ensuring that all survey activities are conducted in accordance with UNICEF's standards and protocols, and that the findings are accurately reported to inform child survival and development programs in Guinea. The consultant will work closely with the UNICEF country office and relevant government ministries.
Work Experience
At least 3 years of experience in national surveys. Proven experience in data management. At least 2 years of experience in XLSForm/KoboCollect form programming and management/cleaning of nutritional databases. Participation in at least two SMART, EDS, or MICS surveys as a principal or assistant.
