Job Purpose
The consultant will support key moments and initiatives within UNICEF’s Global, Regional, and Country Polio Advocacy for the periods August-December 2026 and January-June 2027. This role is crucial for scaling up polio advocacy results during a critical period of polio outbreaks and eradication efforts. The consultant will develop concept notes and project plans, support the creation of advocacy materials for global and regional events, and produce documents demonstrating advocacy achievements to strengthen partnerships and secure future funding. This position is vital for delivering resources and materials for internal purposes and donor engagement, particularly in relation to a leading foundation supporting UNICEF’s polio advocacy.
Responsibilities
The consultant will work closely with relevant Global, Regional, and Country Advocacy Managers and the Gates Foundation Grant Focal Point. Key responsibilities include developing concept notes and project plans for initiatives to be implemented across UNICEF offices. The consultant will also support the development of essential resources to facilitate coordination and advocacy around significant global and regional events. Furthermore, they will be responsible for producing documents that showcase advocacy results, which are crucial for strengthening partnerships and identifying opportunities to secure future funding for polio advocacy efforts. This role requires the creation of materials for internal use and donor engagement, contributing directly to the success of UNICEF's polio eradication strategy and child survival advocacy.
Work Experience
At least three (3) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in global/public health, advocacy, and communication. Experience in developing advocacy materials, writing reports, managing projects, and working in international advocacy is essential. Experience in polio eradication is strongly preferred.
