Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Social Policy Specialist (P3, HOPE Focal Point) within the Social Policy section, and in close collaboration with sections using cash transfer modalities, the incumbent contributes to the daily operational coordination of cash transfer activities. This role involves managing technical relationships with data collection and processing partners, ensuring data quality assurance, conducting financial analyses for grant and cash transfer fund utilization, and closely monitoring partner activities for complaint handling and beneficiary payment verification. The position is crucial for the effective and efficient implementation of cash transfer programs, ensuring accountability and proper financial oversight to support children and communities.
Responsibilities
The Social Policy Officer will be responsible for managing the technical relationship with partners involved in data collection and processing for cash transfer programs. This includes implementing data quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of beneficiary data. The role also entails conducting financial analyses to monitor the appropriate utilization of grants and funds allocated for cash transfers, ensuring financial accountability. Furthermore, the officer will maintain close follow-up with partners to track complaints received from beneficiaries and verify the timely and accurate processing of payments. This involves coordinating operational activities, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the cash transfer modality, ensuring that support reaches intended beneficiaries as planned and in compliance with UNICEF's standards and procedures.
Work Experience
At least one year of relevant professional experience in social policy, beneficiary data management, cash transfer program monitoring, case management, or a related field.
