Job Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to design and facilitate a one-day, in-person team retreat for approximately 18–20 staff members. The retreat aims to strengthen leadership capabilities, enhance self-awareness, and foster more effective collaboration within the team. The facilitator will deliver an engaging and interactive program that equips participants with practical leadership insights, explores different leadership styles using an appropriate personality or leadership assessment framework, and strengthens public speaking and presentation skills to build confidence and communication effectiveness. The retreat should provide a reflective and collaborative learning environment that supports individual growth while contributing to stronger team cohesion and overall performance, ultimately enhancing the team's ability to serve children and communities.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of Section, the consultant will be responsible for designing and facilitating a one-day, in-person team retreat for approximately 18–20 participants. This includes liaising with the Section Chief to understand the team's context, objectives, and expected outcomes. The consultant will design a tailored, interactive agenda integrating leadership development, self-awareness, team effectiveness, and public speaking. They will utilize an appropriate personality or leadership assessment framework (e.g., MBTI or equivalent) to help participants understand leadership styles and communication preferences. The consultant will design and facilitate practical exercises, group discussions, and reflection activities. A dedicated session on public speaking will be delivered, focusing on confidence and effective communication. Discussions promoting collaboration, trust, and mutual understanding will be facilitated in a safe and inclusive environment. The facilitation approach will be adapted to participant needs. All necessary training materials and resources will be provided. A short end-of-session evaluation will be conducted, and a brief post-retreat report summarizing activities, observations, feedback, and recommendations will be submitted.
Work Experience
Proven experience in designing and facilitating leadership development workshops and team retreats. Experience with personality or leadership assessment tools (e.g., MBTI) is required. Strong facilitation and public speaking skills are essential.
