UNICEF Algeria supports the Algerian government in promoting national priorities for children, adolescents, and youth, focusing on education, inclusion, life skills, participation, empowerment, and institutional capacity building. The cooperation program aims to foster integrated approaches for adolescents and youth to succeed in their educational, social, and professional transitions, with a focus on vulnerable groups.
Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this national junior/associate consultancy is to support UNICEF Algeria, the senior national consultant, and three partner ministries in contextualizing, co-facilitating, field monitoring, documenting, and capitalizing on the implementation of the Adolescent Kit, aligned with the Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) framework. This role is complementary to the senior consultant's mission and aims to enhance the operational quality of training for 90 ministry officials, prepare duplication plans, monitor six supervised duplications, and document lessons learned. The consultancy will contribute to strengthening the quality of training and ensuring effective implementation and knowledge sharing of the Adolescent Kit within the partner ministries.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of UNICEF Algeria and in close coordination with the Education and Adolescent Development team, Child Protection Specialist, focal points from the three concerned ministries, and the senior national consultant, the junior/associate national consultant will provide technical and operational support for contextualization, targeted co-facilitation, field monitoring, and documentation. This includes supporting the preparation of tools, contextualizing training materials, co-facilitating specific training sessions, assisting with duplication missions, collecting qualitative data, documenting feedback and lessons learned, and consolidating capitalization annexes. The consultant will jointly work with the senior consultant during the six supervised duplications to provide coaching, observation, practical support, documentation, and feedback. UNICEF remains responsible for contractual supervision, institutional coordination, and final validation of deliverables. The role focuses on enhancing the operational quality of training and ensuring effective implementation and knowledge sharing of the Adolescent Kit.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in youth development, education programs, training facilitation, or project support, preferably within a UN agency or international organization. Experience in the Algerian context and with similar youth-focused initiatives is an asset.
