Job Purpose
The Partnerships Specialist, a temporary assignment covering maternity leave, is crucial for ensuring the continuity of partnership management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement within the YuWaah initiative. This role safeguards operational stability, maintains time-bound deliverables, and mitigates risks of delays in implementation and reporting. By ensuring diversity of partners, catalyzing multi-partner engagements, leading fundraising efforts, and identifying opportunities for leveraging non-monetary resources, the specialist directly contributes to YuWaah's mandate. Working closely with the Resource Mobilisation Section, this position enhances results for young people and ensures the long-term sustainability of YuWaah as a collaborative platform, vital for achieving planned results without interruption.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement annual partnership engagement and resource mobilization plans for YuWaah. Grow strategic long-term, flexible income through partners and board members to sustain YuWaah as a platform. Lead the management of existing YuWaah partnerships (both local and global) with support from the Secretariat to enhance partner engagement, including reporting, participation in governance, and co-creation. Support the management of the board and leadership council at YuWaah. Support advocacy efforts of YuWaah, with a particular focus on the private sector. Establish and manage partnerships that can help leverage funds for enhancing the goals of YuWaah. Provide inputs into partnership plans and strategy for YuWaah. Report on progress based on timelines linked to donor reports and any other national or global reporting requirements. Establish programmatic and strategic relationships. Ensure diversity of partners onboarded on the YuWaah platform, aligned with its mission. Catalyse opportunities for multi-partner strategic engagements and events that foster collaboration and co-creation with young people. Lead fundraising efforts for both the YuWaah Secretariat and YuWaah Partners, enabling YuWaah to evolve into a self-sustaining platform. Identify and generate opportunities for leveraging non-monetary resources from Yuwaah partners to strengthen YuWaah’s digital platforms, Secretariat, and Solution Partners.
Work Experience
Experience in partnership management, resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and working with private sector and government institutions is required. Experience with youth-focused programs is an asset.
