Job Purpose
In this role, you will make a difference by strengthening Uganda’s community health system through the design and implementation of interoperability between the Community Health Worker Registry (CHWR) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS). By enabling seamless data exchange, synchronization of CHW records, and integration into the national data warehouse, you will improve the accuracy, accessibility, and use of health workforce data for decision-making. Your work on developing APIs, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards will support better planning, supervision, and performance monitoring of community health workers, while geo-referenced insights will enhance service coverage and equity. Additionally, by supporting system testing, deployment, and capacity building for national stakeholders, you will contribute to sustainable digital health solutions that strengthen service delivery and ultimately improve health outcomes across communities in Uganda.
Responsibilities
Design and implement interoperability solutions between the Community Health Worker Registry (CHWR) and the Electronic Community Health Information System (eCHIS). Develop APIs, data pipelines, and analytics dashboards to facilitate seamless data exchange and synchronization of CHW records. Integrate CHWR data into the national data warehouse to improve data accuracy, accessibility, and utilization for decision-making. Support the development of geo-referenced insights to enhance service coverage and equity in health service delivery. Conduct system testing, deployment, and provide capacity building for national stakeholders on digital health solutions. Ensure the sustainability of digital health solutions that strengthen service delivery and improve health outcomes. Collaborate with national stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and adoption of interoperable systems. Document technical specifications, processes, and training materials. Monitor and evaluate the performance of integrated systems and provide recommendations for improvement. Contribute to the overall strengthening of Uganda's community health system through robust information management.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in digital health systems, with proven experience in health system interoperability and API development. Experience with DHIS2, data warehouse integration, HL7 FHIR, OpenHIE, and open-source platforms (e.g., CHT, OpenSRP) is required.
