Job Purpose
The community-level work aims to strengthen the territorial implementation of UNICEF's policies and strategies focused on preventing all forms of exploitation, sexual abuse, violence, and violation of rights against girls, boys, adolescents, and their families. This involves promoting an institutional and community culture based on the principle of zero tolerance. The consultant will be responsible for strengthening the implementation of policies and strategies related to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and the safeguarding of children. This role is crucial in ensuring that UNICEF's commitment to child protection is effectively translated into action at the community level, contributing to a safer environment for children and adolescents.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for strengthening the territorial implementation of UNICEF's policies and strategies for the prevention of all forms of exploitation, sexual abuse, violence, and violation of rights against children and adolescents. This includes promoting a zero-tolerance culture within the community and institutions. The role involves working with local organizations and community networks to enhance child protection mechanisms. The consultant will also be expected to implement playful methodologies with a pedagogical approach, engaging children, adolescents, and families in protection processes. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse, coordinating with local stakeholders, and contributing to the overall safeguarding of children in Nicaragua. The consultant will also be expected to provide technical support and guidance to local partners, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's global standards and priorities in child protection.
Work Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in developing technical consultancies or projects focused on child attention and protection, working with adolescents, preventing sexual abuse and exploitation, and coordinating with local organizations and community networks. Experience in implementing playful, pedagogical methodologies with children, adolescents, and families is also required.
