Job Purpose
The UNICEF Morocco office seeks an intern to support ongoing work within the Child Protection program, specifically focusing on migration. The intern will assist the Programme Officer - Migration in implementing and monitoring projects related to the rights and protection of migrant children. This internship aims to provide practical experience in project management and the international organizational culture within the UN system, while contributing to UNICEF's mandate of ensuring that decisions regarding migrant children are based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, ensuring equitable access to essential services, and providing reliable information and participation in decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Programme Officer - Child Protection-Migration, the intern will participate in meetings for the design, planning, and monitoring of initiatives and activities. They will contribute to the organization of upcoming events, including international days and key moments related to the project. The intern will support the development of presentations and other documents in French and English. Additionally, they will provide ad-hoc support to other operations conducted by the Child Protection-Migration program in cooperation with its partners. This includes assisting with the capitalization of tools and resources developed on the theme of protecting children in migration situations and updating an online resource/training platform. The intern will also support the documentation processes of implemented activities and obtained results, gaining in-depth knowledge of project management and the work culture within international organizations.
Work Experience
Experience in project management (internships, student projects) is a strong asset. The internship itself is designed to provide practical experience in project management and the UN system's work culture.
