Job Purpose
The Programme Associate, under the guidance of the WASH Specialist, provides specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes in the Pacific. This role is crucial for ensuring effective programme delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent will be involved in significant data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with various internal and external stakeholders. The position requires proactive engagement, anticipating needs, and recommending actions to enhance programme planning, implementation, and reporting of results, ultimately contributing to UNICEF's mission of advancing children's rights and wellbeing across the region.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support to Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination, ensuring smooth collaboration and effective project execution. Offer technical and operational support to facilitate the successful implementation of UNICEF's programmes, addressing challenges and ensuring alignment with objectives. Manage grants, monitor budgets meticulously, and prepare accurate reports to maintain financial accountability and transparency. Drive digital innovation and enhance operational efficiency through the adoption of new tools and processes. Facilitate communication, knowledge sharing, and dissemination of programme results and best practices. Coordinate capacity-building initiatives and events to strengthen partner capabilities and promote learning. Provide flexibility and surge support as needed across various programme activities and operational requirements, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to UNICEF's mission. Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with UNICEF's rules and regulations, contributing to the overall success of the Pacific MCO's strategic goals.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in administration, programme support, program management, monitoring and evaluation, implementing partner management, or clerical work is required. Experience in programme support within a UN system agency or similar organization is desirable.
