Job Purpose
The People & Culture Officer, reporting to the Deputy Representative, will provide essential human resources services to the UNICEF Sao-Tome and Principe office. This role involves applying theoretical People & Culture models and understanding organizational policies and procedures to support colleagues and the supervisor. The officer will be instrumental in executing key HR functions, including Business Partnering, Strategic Human Resources, and supporting the implementation of assigned People & Culture services. A significant aspect of the role will involve contributing to Learning and Capacity Development initiatives and conducting People and Culture data analytics to inform strategic decisions and improve HR service delivery. This position is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the HR department within the country office, aligning with UNICEF's global mission to support children's rights.
Responsibilities
As a People & Culture Officer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive human resources support within the UNICEF Sao-Tome and Principe office. Your duties will encompass Business Partnering, acting as a key point of contact for HR-related matters for specific teams or departments, and contributing to Strategic Human Resources by assisting in the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals. You will support the implementation of assigned People & Culture services, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery of HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. A critical component of this role is contributing to Learning and Capacity Development initiatives, identifying training needs, and supporting the delivery of relevant programs to enhance staff skills and competencies. Furthermore, you will be involved in People and Culture data analytics, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on HR data to provide insights for decision-making and to monitor HR effectiveness. This includes maintaining HR records, generating reports, and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and services to support UNICEF's mission for every child.
Work Experience
At least one year of professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation is required.
