Job Purpose

The UNICEF Office of Innovation (OOI) seeks a Blockchain Lead to provide expertise, technical, and strategic coordination for Blockchain-related activities within the Solutions team, OOI, and UNICEF globally. This role requires deep technical knowledge of Blockchain, an understanding of current trends and ecosystem players, and hands-on experience in building and scaling open-source products. The specialist will collaborate across teams with varying technical understanding to achieve results, contributing to UNICEF's mission of leveraging new approaches and technologies to improve outcomes for children.

Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the Innovation Manager (Emerging Tech), the Innovation Specialist (Blockchain) will be responsible for drafting and shaping the execution of the Solutions team’s Blockchain and Web3 strategy in close collaboration with team members. They will guide and support the UNICEF Venture Fund’s investment strategy and implementation concerning Blockchain and Web3, as well as provide guidance for the strategies, operation, and scaling of the UNICEF Cryptofund and related Digital Assets initiatives. The role involves providing technical, knowledge, and strategic support, along with project management for specific blockchain and Web3 initiatives undertaken by UNICEF. Additionally, the specialist will offer expert guidance and support for blockchain and Web3 related partnerships and fundraising efforts, ensuring UNICEF stays at the forefront of technological innovation for children.

Work Experience

At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Technology, blockchain, web3, digital assets, decentralized systems, innovation management, venture capital, product management, technical strategy, partnerships, fundraising, or DLT.
