Job Purpose
The Senior School Related Gender Based Violence Consultant will support the preparation and facilitation of a three-day regional workshop focused on capacity building for SEAMEO countries. This role involves developing a comprehensive workshop package, including agenda, session plans, and training materials, and collaborating with various entities to ensure effective delivery. The consultant will also facilitate the workshop, guiding country delegations in analyzing progress, understanding gender barriers through policy diagnostic tools, and developing detailed Country Action Plans with strategies to address identified challenges. This position is crucial for advancing the regional roadmap and addressing gender-based violence in educational settings.
Responsibilities
1. Support the preparation of a three-day regional workshop capacity building package. This includes developing the workshop agenda and programme, drafting session plans for UNICEF-led days, and providing guidance for other sessions. The expert will create clear methodologies and prepare all related training materials, collating input from UN, NGO, Youth, and inter-governmental entities. This package will be presented during the Quarter 3 Community of Practice meeting.
2. Facilitate the three-day regional workshop and provide expert assistance to country delegations. The consultant will lead an in-person workshop to assess progress, review the implementation of the policy diagnostic tool, and discuss the Community of Practice within SEAMEO countries. The expert will train and guide country delegations through practical exercises to analyze gender barriers and develop detailed strategies to overcome them, ensuring the production of informed Country Action Plans.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education programming, with a focus on gender-based violence prevention and response in educational settings. Experience in designing and facilitating regional workshops and capacity-building initiatives is essential.
