The Niger office is implementing a Young Internship Programme to support the employability of young Nigeriens, identifying, training, and supporting young talents while meeting operational needs.
Job Purpose
The Young Internship Programme at UNICEF Niger aims to provide young Nigerien graduates with structured professional experience, enhancing their employability within international organizations. This internship offers practical, enriching experience over six months, with structured mentorship, exposure to international organization operations, and professional skill development. It supports UNICEF Niger's commitment to youth inclusion, knowledge transfer, and national human capital development, while also addressing the operational requirements of various sections within the office. The program seeks to build a pool of young professionals familiar with UNICEF's values, procedures, and standards, contributing to the organization's mission for every child.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Agadez Field Office Chief, the intern will contribute to the implementation of programmatic and operational activities. Key responsibilities include providing support for the operational monitoring of program activities, assisting in data collection for program activities including HACT. The intern will also support administrative management, which involves preparing meetings, visits, and missions, as well as managing partner requests (registration, processing, and liquidation follow-up). Additionally, support will be provided for compound management and assisting in drafting meeting minutes and reports. This role is designed to offer hands-on experience in program support and administrative functions within a UN agency.
Work Experience
No specific prior work experience is required, but a strong academic record or professional/academic recommendations are necessary. The internship itself is designed to provide the primary work experience.
