Job Purpose
The internship aims to provide young Nigerien graduates with practical and enriching experience within UNICEF Niger's Education section. Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, the intern will contribute to data collection, consolidation, and information management for the Education Cluster. This role involves establishing and updating a database of intervention schools, monitoring indicator tracking tools, and collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data related to education needs in emergency situations. The intern will also develop and disseminate information products, support partners in reporting, and contribute to inter-agency exercises, thereby enhancing their professional skills and contributing to UNICEF's mission.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist, the intern will contribute to data collection and consolidation for the Education section and information management for the Education Cluster. Key responsibilities include: - Establishing and maintaining a database of schools where the Education section intervenes, ensuring its regular updates. - Monitoring the completion and updating of the indicator tracking tool. - Collecting, consolidating, cleaning, and analyzing data related to needs, interventions, and coverage gaps in Education in emergency situations on Statchild. - Developing, updating, and disseminating cluster information products, such as dashboards, fact sheets, tracking matrices, maps, and analytical presentations on a monthly or quarterly basis. - Supporting partners in regular reporting and the use of information management systems on Statchild. - Contributing to inter-agency and inter-sectoral exercises, including needs assessments, humanitarian response planning, and monitoring of sector indicators.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required, but a good knowledge of IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet) is necessary. The internship itself provides practical experience.
