Job Purpose
The Fundraising Manager (Innovation) position is crucial for driving strategic innovation within UNICEF's fundraising practices. This role involves fostering collaborations, both internally and externally, to support the piloting and scaling of innovative fundraising solutions. By consolidating best practices, the manager will inform global fundraising priorities, ensuring UNICEF remains a leading organization of choice for donors through continuous innovation and adaptive strategies. The position aims to enhance UNICEF's capacity to secure resources for children by exploring and implementing novel approaches to fundraising, thereby maximizing impact and ensuring sustainable support for its programs worldwide. This role is key to maintaining UNICEF's competitive edge in the philanthropic landscape.
Responsibilities
The Fundraising Manager (Innovation) is responsible for maximizing the impact of the Fundraising Innovation Fund (FRIF) by managing the innovation pipeline, overseeing project selection, funding allocation, and monitoring. This includes facilitating solution development and ensuring alignment with global priorities, while maintaining repositories for knowledge sharing and scaling proven solutions. The role also involves strengthening internal and external partnerships by representing UNICEF in innovation and fundraising networks, engaging with corporates, academia, and experts to expand the innovation ecosystem, and supporting collaboration across UNICEF innovation initiatives. Furthermore, the manager will coordinate the global fundraising innovation community by managing innovation platforms and tools, promoting participation, collaboration, and visibility of initiatives, and supporting national innovation challenges. The position promotes the adoption of fundraising solutions by developing guidance, methodologies, and capacity-building tools, supporting markets in planning and implementing innovation activities, and ensuring alignment with global priorities. Finally, the role supports the transition and management of the Fundraising Innovation Programme, supervising consultants, supporting the transition to the next phase, and ensuring effective recruitment and handover processes.
Work Experience
At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Fund Raising, Innovation, fundraising innovation products, innovation initiatives in nonprofit settings, or related fields.
