Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to conduct research and policy analysis on international development finance and partnerships with China-based financial institutions, including policy banks, Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), and other financial entities. The role will support development engagement strategies for inter-governmental platforms, with a specific focus on increasing international development finance for child-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, the consultant will enhance capacity through training and knowledge-sharing activities, and support the effective organization and delivery of events aimed at promoting child-focused financing cooperation. This assignment is crucial for advancing UNICEF's mission by leveraging financial partnerships to better serve children's rights and potential.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research and in-depth policy analysis on international development finance, focusing on partnerships with China-based financial institutions such as policy banks and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). Develop and support strategic engagement plans for inter-governmental platforms to advocate for increased international development finance dedicated to child-related SDGs. Design and implement capacity-building initiatives, including training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities, to enhance understanding and application of child-lens financing. Organize and facilitate events, workshops, and dialogues to foster cooperation and promote innovative financing mechanisms for children. Produce high-quality policy briefs, reports, and knowledge products that inform UNICEF's strategies and advocacy efforts. Support partnership building with governments, UN agencies, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), and private sector actors in the development finance arena. Effectively manage project timelines, deliverables, and communication with diverse stakeholders in a remote and multicultural environment. Contribute to the development of innovative approaches to development finance that prioritize the rights and well-being of children.
Work Experience
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in international development cooperation and financing, or in South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC).
