Job Purpose
The Security Officer, reporting to the Hub Coordinator and Security Adviser, is responsible for providing professional technical, operational, and administrative support to manage security planning, risk assessments, and overall security management. Responsibilities
The Security Officer will be responsible for assisting the supervisor in developing and implementing security plans, conducting regular security risk assessments, and monitoring the security situation in the area of operation. This includes gathering, analyzing, and disseminating security-related information to ensure timely and informed decision-making. The role involves advising on security measures, ensuring compliance with UN security policies and procedures, and coordinating with local authorities and other UN agencies on security matters. The officer will also be responsible for managing security incidents, including investigations and reporting, and ensuring the safety and security of UNICEF facilities and assets. Additionally, the position requires supporting the security training of staff and contributing to the overall security management framework to protect UNICEF personnel and operations.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in global security risk management and/or security analysis is required.
