The Global Programme Division (GPD) leads programme excellence by providing strategic direction and strengthening operational effectiveness. Centres of Excellence (CoEs) deliver high-quality support to countries and partners. This position is in the Bangkok CoE.
Job Purpose
The Senior Operations Associate plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of operational services that enable programme teams to achieve results for children. The role supports the coordination of critical business processes across finance, procurement, asset management, and logistics, working closely with the Centre of Excellence (CoE), Common Service Centres (CSCs), and programme teams. By identifying operational needs, improving processes, and ensuring timely and compliant execution of transactions, the incumbent contributes to strengthening service delivery, enhancing efficiency, and supporting UNICEF’s mission to reach the most disadvantaged children. The position aims to create an enabling environment for teams to deliver results for children by supporting operations coordination, process improvement, budget and financial support, procurement and asset management, and event and logistics coordination.
Responsibilities
Support the coordination and implementation of core business processes, working closely with programme teams, Common Service Centres (CSCs), and partners to ensure smooth service delivery. Contribute to operations coordination and process improvement by identifying operational needs and resolving bottlenecks in a timely manner. Provide budget and financial support, including assisting with budget monitoring and financial reporting. Manage procurement and asset management activities in accordance with UNICEF rules and procedures. Coordinate events and logistics, ensuring all arrangements are made efficiently. Support transaction processing and strengthen collaboration across teams. Ensure adherence to UNICEF rules and procedures to enhance efficiency and support effective programme delivery. Assist in the development and implementation of operational strategies and improvements. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate operational activities. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all operational processes. Contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Centre of Excellence operations.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience in operational support, budget support, finance and accounting, operations coordination, administrative/logistics support, and stakeholder engagement is required. Experience in UN or international organizations is desirable.
