Job Purpose
The consultant will support UNICEF Brazil in developing an intersectoral Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) strategy aimed at preventing corporal punishment and other forms of physical violence against children. This will build upon existing evidence from UNICEF's formative diagnoses. The assignment focuses on designing and facilitating a partner-driven process to translate this evidence into a practical SBC strategy and an accompanying work plan. The process involves in-person and online workshops, thematic working groups, and final validation meetings to ensure a comprehensive and collaborative approach to strategy development and implementation.
Responsibilities
The consultant is responsible for designing the work plan, methodology, and facilitation approach for the strategy-building process, including agendas, invitations, session plans, and materials for workshops. They will deliver two in-person workshops in Brasilia: the first for three days to present evidence, explain SBC concepts, and facilitate the joint development of strategic pillars, priority audiences, behavioural objectives, and partner roles; and the second for two days for validation of the draft strategy and work plan, including strategic directions, implementation approaches, partner roles, and responsibilities. The consultant will also support the coordination of partner working groups, provide guidance for preparatory notes, design and facilitate a two-day online consolidation workshop, draft the SBC strategy and work plan, incorporate feedback from validation processes, and deliver all final approved documents and annexes.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating behavioral change strategies and/or research at the national and/or international levels is required. A portfolio of relevant work examples must be attached.
