Job Purpose

This role aims to strengthen coordinated education responses in humanitarian settings by providing strategic leadership and representation. The incumbent will drive a coherent and accountable approach within the Cluster, ensuring effective collaboration among partners to meet the needs of affected populations. By fostering strong stakeholder relationships and inter-sectoral collaboration, the position will guide collective action to deliver timely, inclusive, and impactful education interventions in response to emergencies. The objective is to ensure that education is a priority and effectively delivered even in crisis situations, aligning with humanitarian standards and evolving needs.

Responsibilities

The Education Manager Cluster Coordinator will provide strategic leadership and representation to ensure a timely, coherent, and effective response in complex humanitarian settings. Key responsibilities include bringing together diverse stakeholders to work collectively towards shared, evidence-based goals, and overseeing coordination mechanisms, needs assessments, and response planning. This involves building strong partnerships, mobilizing resources, and monitoring performance to drive an inclusive and accountable response. The role also focuses on strengthening national and local capacities, ensuring education interventions align with humanitarian standards and meet the evolving needs of affected populations. Specific duties encompass coordination, representation, leadership, needs assessment and analysis, strategic response planning, resource mobilization and advocacy, implementation and monitoring, operational review and evaluation, accountability to affected populations, and strengthening national and local capacity.

Work Experience

A minimum of 8 years of professional experience, preferably at the international level, in education programme planning, coordination, and management, and/or research is required.
