Job Purpose
The Communication Officer will assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of an advocacy and communication strategy. The primary goal is to elevate children's and women's issues in the public domain, build political will to support UNICEF's mission and objectives in Türkiye, and enhance the organization's credibility and brand. This role involves ensuring timely production of communication products and materials to support country, regional, and global campaigns, as well as resource mobilization efforts outlined in the work plan. The officer will also provide professional assistance in media relations, developing and maintaining relationships with journalists across print, TV, radio, and web to effectively communicate UNICEF's cooperation story to a wider audience.
Responsibilities
The Communication Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely execution and follow-up of communication product and material production to align with the country communication strategy, regional and global campaigns, and priorities, thereby supporting resource mobilization as per the work plan. This includes providing effective and timely professional assistance in developing, drafting, and maintaining contact information, materials, and relationships with journalists and media outlets across all platforms (print, TV, radio, web) within the country to disseminate UNICEF's cooperation story to a broader audience. Regular monitoring and evaluation activities will be undertaken according to the work plan to maximize the impact and ensure continuous improvement of country communication efforts, with timely preparation and sharing of results and reports. Additionally, the officer will maintain and further develop the Country Office’s contact list of individuals, groups, organizations, and forums, including government, UN, and bilateral counterparts, whose support is crucial for achieving advocacy and communication objectives and who can actively participate in special events and activities that advance country programme goals.
Work Experience
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Communication, Broadcasting, Media, digital media, or any other related fields.
