Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The intern will play a supportive role within the UNICEF Maldives Country Office's education section, specifically contributing to the formulation and implementation of Adolescent Skills and Employability (ASE) programs. Key responsibilities will include assisting in desk research and data gathering on youth employment, educational attainment, and skill development needs across the Maldives, particularly focusing on challenges faced by adolescents not in employment, education, or training. The intern will support the team in drafting concept notes, proposals, and reports related to ASE initiatives, ensuring alignment with national development goals and UNICEF's strategic priorities. Furthermore, the role will involve actively participating in meetings with government counterparts, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders, taking minutes, and following up on action points to facilitate collaborative program design and delivery. The intern will also contribute to the development of communication materials and advocacy efforts to raise awareness about youth employability issues and the importance of inclusive education. This position offers a valuable opportunity to learn about program cycle management, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based policy formulation within an international development context, directly impacting the lives of young people in the Maldives by enhancing their access to relevant skills and work experience.
