Job Purpose
The Communication Assistant (GS5) will reinforce the video production capacity of the UNICEF GSSC and create engaging, impactful video content for internal and external channels. This role involves operating the broadcasting studio and supporting end-to-end production of live global internal events, bringing stories and messages to life through high-quality multimedia production. The position aims to enhance the GSSC's communication outreach and storytelling capabilities, contributing to the organization's mission of promoting children's rights and well-being through compelling visual content and effective broadcast management.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist (P3), the Communication Assistant will be responsible for multimedia content creation, with a strong focus on video production and visual design. This includes conceptualizing, shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content for various platforms. The role also entails managing the broadcasting studio, ensuring all equipment is functional and maintained, and providing technical support for studio operations. A key responsibility is supporting the end-to-end production of live global internal events, including setup, technical execution, and troubleshooting during broadcasts. The assistant will also contribute to other technical and administrative support tasks as needed within the Communication Team, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of communication materials. This position requires a proactive approach to content creation and a commitment to producing impactful visual stories that align with UNICEF's mission and brand.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications, journalism, client engagement, or content management is required for candidates with a high school diploma. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in a related field require a minimum of 2 years of related work experience. A relevant master's degree may substitute for additional years of experience.
