Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support country offices in preparation for the upcoming Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC). UNICEF is co-organizing this conference, which is a key opportunity for governments and partners to demonstrate progress, strengthen commitments, and advance evidence-based action to prevent and respond to violence against children. To support effective country participation and preparation, UNICEF seeks two consultants to facilitate national preparation processes, strengthen coordination across countries and regions, support the review and development of national pledges, and ensure effective engagement of governments and partners throughout the preparatory period. The consultants will work closely with UNICEF country offices and the global VAC team to support high-quality participation and contributions from countries in their respective regions.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for facilitating national preparation processes for the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC). This includes strengthening coordination across countries and regions to ensure cohesive and effective participation. The consultant will also support the review and development of national pledges, ensuring they align with conference objectives and national priorities. A key aspect of the role involves ensuring effective engagement of governments and partners throughout the preparatory period, fostering collaboration and commitment. The consultant will work closely with UNICEF country offices and the global VAC team to provide technical support and guidance. This role requires facilitating multi-country or regional processes and engaging with governments and international organizations to achieve the conference's goals of advancing action to prevent and respond to violence against children.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in international development, public policy, or related fields, including 3 years in child protection and/or VAC programming, policy, or advocacy. Demonstrated experience facilitating multi-country or regional processes. Experience working with governments, UNICEF, UN agencies, and development partners.
