This internship supports the Child Survival and Development section.
Job Purpose
The internship aims to provide the intern with practical experience and skill development in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) within schools and health centers. The intern will gain hands-on experience in improving access to safe drinking water, enhancing hygiene conditions, and advancing sanitation facilities in these critical community settings. This role is designed to support academic and professional development by offering exposure to humanitarian sector challenges and UNICEF's programmatic and operational approaches. The intern will contribute to knowledge production, capitalization, and dissemination of WASH initiatives, documenting processes and impacts, and analyzing practices to inform communication strategies for behavior change.
Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of WASH programs in schools and health centers. Assist in monitoring and evaluating WASH interventions, including data collection and analysis. Document project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, paying attention to unexpected impacts. Contribute to the creation of communication materials and tools to promote good hygiene practices and address persistent challenges. Conduct research and analysis on WASH-related issues, particularly concerning menstrual hygiene and equitable access for persons with disabilities. Provide innovative ideas to improve the quality and accessibility of WASH services. Support the team in organizing workshops, meetings, and field visits related to WASH activities. Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations on WASH program progress. Ensure that all activities align with UNICEF's mission and values, with a focus on child rights and inclusion. Contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.

No specific work experience is required, but a strong interest in WASH and related fields is essential. Academic performance and relevant project work will be considered.
