Job Purpose
The objective is to enable the intern to improve their skills in social protection and public finance for children's rights. This internship offers practical experience to a student or recent graduate in the field of social policies, particularly public finance for children. UNICEF's Programme offers students and recent graduates from academic backgrounds the opportunity to enhance their capacity through a professional work environment and supervision. UNICEF interns benefit from experiential learning opportunities in the humanitarian sector and a meaningful internship experience that will support their academic, professional, and personal development.
Responsibilities
Specifically, the objectives include supporting the intern in the following areas: Supporting economic and social analysis work, particularly generating evidence on public finance and advocacy for the mobilization, allocation, and use of resources for social sectors sensitive to children's rights at national and local levels. Working on the development of simplified briefing notes related to new government projects and interventions, especially those sensitive to children's rights. The intern will assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to social policy and public finance initiatives. They will also contribute to the preparation of presentations and other communication materials to support advocacy efforts. This role involves collaborating with various UNICEF sections and government counterparts to ensure effective program implementation and monitoring.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required, but an interest in social policy, public finance, and children's rights is highly desirable. Previous internship or volunteer experience in a related field is a plus.
