Job Purpose
This role supports UNICEF's commitment to improving maternal nutrition, a critical factor for child survival and development. The position contributes to advancing UNICEF’s Strategic Plan by providing technical assistance to country offices and partners in operationalizing global strategies to prevent anemia and other forms of malnutrition in women. It involves supporting policy development, programme implementation, and strengthening maternal nutrition services in both humanitarian and development contexts. The role also engages in implementation research, advocacy, scale-up of interventions like micronutrient supplementation, and multi-country grant management, donor reporting, and results monitoring.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to country offices and partners in operationalizing global strategies for maternal nutrition, focusing on anemia prevention and micronutrient deficiencies. Support the development and implementation of policies and programmes related to maternal nutrition, particularly through antenatal care platforms. Contribute to implementation research, advocacy, and the scale-up of key interventions such as multiple micronutrient supplementation. Assist in managing multi-country grants, including donor reporting and results monitoring. Strengthen knowledge management, partnerships, and coordination among global and regional stakeholders to enhance UNICEF's leadership in maternal nutrition. Support the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with UNICEF policies and strategic frameworks. Conduct analysis and prepare technical inputs to inform decision-making. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective collaboration. Contribute to quality assurance, compliance, and timely delivery of outputs, identifying risks and proposing mitigation measures.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, Partnerships, Emergency, Maternal Nutrition, Public Health, Health Systems Strengthening, humanitarian response, or any other related fields.
