Job Purpose
The Information Management Specialist will significantly enhance evidence-based humanitarian coordination and decision-making for the WASH and Education Clusters in Haiti. By expertly managing, analyzing, and disseminating critical information, the role will empower partners and stakeholders to accurately identify needs, strategically prioritize interventions, and effectively monitor response efforts. Collaborating closely with the WASH Cluster Coordinator, Education Cluster Coordinator, and the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, the specialist will ensure the provision of high-quality data and information products. This will bolster coordination, accountability, and the overall effectiveness of humanitarian action, ultimately benefiting children and vulnerable communities affected by the ongoing crisis in Haiti. The position is for a limited contract duration of 3 months.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Specialist will be responsible for strengthening the information management capacities of both the WASH and Education Clusters. Key functions include:
Capacity Building (30%): Develop and deliver training programs for National UNV Information Management Officers, enhancing their skills in data management, analysis, and reporting.
Cluster Information Management (50% WASH, 20% Education):
- Develop and maintain robust information management systems for both clusters, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and timeliness.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data related to WASH and Education sector needs, interventions, and outcomes.
- Produce regular information products, including situation reports, dashboards, and analytical briefs, to support cluster coordination and decision-making.
- Support the development and implementation of needs assessments and monitoring frameworks.
- Facilitate information sharing among cluster partners and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of cluster strategies and response plans based on evidence and data.
- Ensure adherence to information management standards and best practices.
- Support the co-leads (UNICEF and DINEPA for WASH, Ministry of Education and UNICEF for Education) in their coordination roles by providing timely and relevant information.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in information management, data management, GIS, assessments, situation analysis, or Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) within the UN or NGO sector. Proven experience in designing and delivering capacity-building programs for national staff is required.
