Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Partnership Manager, the consultant will support Generation Unlimited (GenU) in strengthening strategic engagement with the GenU Global Leadership Council and other influential leaders. The primary goal is to advance employability, employment, and entrepreneurship for young people by working closely with GenU leadership and across the GenU Global Team. This role is crucial for scaling market-relevant skilling and livelihood opportunities for youth by enhancing the composition and engagement of the Global Leadership Council and other key stakeholders. The consultant will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to deepen collaboration, learning, and peer exchange among member organizations, thereby increasing the impact of GenU's initiatives.
Responsibilities
Strengthen and further engage GenU’s Global Leadership Council and other influential leaders to help scale market-relevant skilling and livelihood opportunities for young people. This involves developing and supporting the implementation of a Membership Strategy & Roadmap for Impact, including defining updated value proposition, membership criteria, participation expectations, engagement plans, and a membership pipeline. Professionalize, update, and maintain membership materials for prospective GLC members and leaders, as well as an on-boarding package for new members. Introduce more dynamic engagement modalities to deepen collaboration, learning, and peer exchange among member organizations, based on GLC member feedback. Enhance communication and visibility through periodic email briefings and curated newsletters that showcase impact stories, partnership highlights, and calls to action for members. Project-manage GenU’s flagship Global Leadership Council meetings and other key leadership events, including the September in-person GLC meeting convening during UNGA and a second in-person GLC meeting in Davos. This includes coordination on agenda design, stakeholder consultation, speaker briefings, content development, and logistics/delivery.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of experience in strategic planning, coordination, advocacy, partnership, and event management. Experience with programming and partnerships in multilateral organizations focusing on education and/or youth skills and livelihoods is required. Experience with UNICEF is an added advantage.
