Job Purpose
The Nutrition Officer provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for nutrition programmes/projects within the Gaza Programme, from development planning to delivery of results. The incumbent implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. This role is crucial for supporting the development and execution of effective nutrition interventions in a challenging context, ensuring that children and adolescents in Gaza receive the support they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
Support to programme development and planning, including situation analysis, needs assessment, and strategy formulation. Programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results, ensuring timely and effective implementation of nutrition projects. Technical and operational support to programme implementation, providing guidance and expertise to partners and stakeholders. Networking and partnership building with government agencies, NGOs, and other UN entities to enhance programme reach and impact. Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building, identifying best practices and promoting learning within the nutrition sector. This includes contributing to the development of nutrition policies and guidelines, and ensuring that programmes are evidence-based and aligned with UNICEF's global nutrition strategy.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in a developing country in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care.
