Job Purpose
The Supply and Logistics Officer plays a key role in enabling UNICEF to deliver results for children by ensuring efficient and timely management of the country office supply chain. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent provides technical and operational support across supply planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, distribution, and monitoring of supplies, services, and construction activities. Working closely with programme teams, government counterparts, and partners, the Supply and Logistics Officer helps develop effective supply solutions, strengthen supply chain systems, and ensure resources reach communities where they are needed most. This role is crucial for the effective implementation of UNICEF's mandate to support the realization of the rights of every child.
Responsibilities
Supervise supply team activities and processes to ensure efficient operations. Manage Supply Chain service delivery, including preparedness and response to emergencies. Collaborate effectively with programme teams and implementing partners to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of supplies and services. Drive innovation in products and markets to optimize supply chain performance. Provide technical and operational support in areas such as supply planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. Monitor the supply chain to ensure resources reach communities in need. Develop and strengthen supply chain systems in line with UNICEF's strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's policies and procedures in all supply chain operations. Contribute to the development of effective supply solutions tailored to the country context. Support the procurement of construction services and engineering services as required.
Work Experience
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in Supply Management, Supply Management/Contracting/Logistics, Procurement, Contracting, Warehouse management, Inventory management, Transportation management, or Emergency logistics.
