Job Purpose

As a Strategic Business Partner and Deputy to the Representative, the incumbent will lead operations functions to achieve results, drive change, and provide risk-informed, solution-focused analysis, advice, and services. This role contributes to programme and management decisions for delivering results for children in all operational contexts. The position involves managing various operational support areas, ensuring staff development, and representing the organizational risk and policy perspective in management discussions. The goal is to understand business needs, anticipate challenges, propose viable solutions, and leverage technology for accountability and results, all while ensuring value for money and supporting audit processes.

Responsibilities

Lead operations functions to achieve results, drive change, and provide risk-informed, solution-focused analysis, advice, and services. Act as Officer in Charge in the absence of the Head of Office. Manage services in budget, financial management and reporting, facilities management, administration, supply and logistics, ICT, and safety and security. Ensure staff development through career planning, stretch assignments, and succession planning. Represent organizational risk, governance systems, and policies in Country and Senior Management Team discussions, promoting results-based management. Understand business needs, anticipate challenges, propose viable solutions, and offer creative ideas for a solution-focused approach with value-for-money strategies and quality assurance. Provide key contributions to CPD, CPMP, and AMP, supporting Results Based Management and implementation using Value for Money criteria. Leverage technology for results and programme accountabilities, promoting ICT management, information security, and controls. Support the country office during external and internal audits, responding to observations and monitoring recommendations. Guide Supply and Logistics strategies to meet programmatic needs while ensuring Value for Money, including procurement of fit-for-purpose products and services.

Work Experience

A minimum of eight years of professional experience in operations management, financial management, supply chain, or a related field, with at least four years at the international level. Experience in a developing country context is an asset.
