Job Purpose
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services while ensuring full compliance with local traffic rules and UNICEF protocols. The role requires demonstrating high standards of professionalism, discretion, integrity, adaptability, and protocol awareness. The Driver will support administrative tasks and engage in self-directed learning during non-driving periods. A client-oriented approach with courtesy, tact, and a strong sense of responsibility is essential, along with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. This position is crucial for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of office activities in a challenging environment.
Responsibilities
Provide reliable and safe driving services to UNICEF staff and authorized personnel, ensuring full compliance with local traffic laws and UNICEF driving policies. Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, performing routine checks on oil, water, tires, and other essential components. Ensure the vehicle is ready for use at all times and report any mechanical issues promptly. Utilize digital tools and tracking systems as required for trip logging and vehicle management. Accurately document all trips, including mileage, destination, and purpose, and submit reports as per UNICEF procedures. Maintain communication with the office and respond effectively to emergency situations, following established protocols. During periods of low driving demand, support office operations with administrative tasks, such as document delivery, mail handling, or other assigned duties. Continuously engage in self-directed learning to enhance driving skills, knowledge of local regulations, and understanding of UNICEF protocols.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required, with a proven safe driving record.
