Job Purpose
The consultant will provide specialized, cross-sectoral technical expertise to design, refine, and institutionalize advanced information management and analytical systems. The assignment will cut across all UNICEF programme and cross-cutting sections and corporate systems, with a focus on strengthening data integration, advancing analytical capacity, and automating scalable tools for evidence-based decision-making. This role is crucial for enhancing UNICEF's ability to leverage data for programmatic impact and operational efficiency, ensuring that decisions are informed by robust analysis and integrated information. The consultant will play a key part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that support the realization of children's rights globally.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include Data Consolidation and Management, ensuring the effective integration of diverse data sources. Data Quality assurance is paramount, involving the implementation of protocols to maintain accuracy and reliability. Information Systems Development will focus on designing and refining systems to support data management and analysis. Data Analysis and Reporting will involve conducting advanced analyses and generating reports to inform decision-making. Stakeholder Engagement will require collaboration with various internal and external partners to ensure alignment and buy-in. Capacity Strengthening and Knowledge Transfer will involve training and supporting staff to enhance their data management and analytical skills. The consultant will also be responsible for developing and automating scalable tools, and contributing to cross-sectoral analysis within development or humanitarian contexts, linking programme results, population reach, and financial data.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in information management, data analytics, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data integration systems, advanced data analysis and visualization, and working with large, complex datasets.
