Job Purpose
The Digital Impact Assistant (GS-4) provides essential office-based technical support to UNICEF end-users, focusing on ICT hardware, software, and operating systems. This role ensures effective and efficient resolution of incidents and queries related to ICT operations and services, including video conferencing, audiovisual, and meeting support. The incumbent is also expected to provide support for external events. Key responsibilities include operational support for preparing laptops and other ICT devices, encompassing installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of ICT and telecommunication system components. Working under supervision and adhering to established policies, the assistant delivers first-level technical and operational support for the daily maintenance of ICT equipment, digital platforms, and telecommunication systems, aligning with the ICT work plan and UNICEF's operational needs.
Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical and operational support to UNICEF end-users for ICT hardware, software, and operating systems, ensuring timely and effective resolution of incidents and queries. Manage and maintain ICT equipment, digital platforms, and telecommunication systems in accordance with the ICT work plan and UNICEF's operational requirements. Install, configure, and troubleshoot ICT and telecommunication system components, including laptops and other devices. Offer support for video conferencing, audiovisual equipment, and meeting setups, both within the office and for external events. Document support activities, maintain inventory of ICT assets, and contribute to the development of user guides and FAQs. Assist in the procurement process for ICT equipment and services. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's IT policies, security standards, and service level agreements. Collaborate with the Digital Impact Officer and other IT staff to identify and implement improvements to ICT services. Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on the use of ICT equipment and software. Support the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure and connectivity.
Work Experience
A minimum of four years of practical work experience in information technology, demonstrating systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem-solving.
