Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide crucial programme coordination, partnership, grant management, Technical Assistance tracking, front office, and research support to the Director's Office of the Global WASH Practice. The role will bolster the effective management of key initiatives, enhance coordination and tracking of Technical Assistance requests from Country and Regional Offices, and support proposal development and reporting. By contributing to evidence-based decision-making and knowledge management, the consultant will help improve the coherence, efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness of the Global WASH Practice in achieving its Strategic Plan and Global WASH Programme Offer objectives, ultimately advancing child survival, health, development, and resilience through improved WASH systems.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide comprehensive programme coordination support to the Director's Office of the Global WASH Practice. This includes managing and tracking priority initiatives, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's Strategic Plan and Global WASH Programme Offer. A key responsibility involves strengthening the coordination and monitoring of Technical Assistance requests originating from Country and Regional Offices, ensuring timely and effective responses. The consultant will also play a vital role in supporting proposal development processes, including drafting content and coordinating inputs from various stakeholders, as well as assisting with donor and corporate reporting requirements. Furthermore, the role entails supporting partnership engagement, grant management, and resource mobilization efforts. The consultant will contribute to evidence generation and knowledge management by synthesizing information, preparing briefs, reports, and presentations to inform decision-making. They will also manage project management tools, dashboards, and trackers to enhance operational efficiency and provide front office support to the Director. This includes facilitating communication, coordinating meetings, and managing information flow to ensure smooth operations and effective delivery of the Global WASH Practice's mandate.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in programme coordination, project management, partnerships, grant management, reporting, research, or Technical Assistance coordination. Demonstrated experience supporting complex global or regional programmes is required. Experience in proposal development, donor reporting, and supporting senior leadership is highly desirable.
