Job Purpose
The WASH Officer reports to the WASH Specialist and provides professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the WASH programming process. This role involves applying theoretical and practical technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting programme information. The incumbent will learn organizational rules, regulations, and procedures to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Country Programme's WASH output results. This position is at Level 1, an entry-level professional post intended for acquiring knowledge of organizational processes for upward mobility, and incumbents are not expected to remain in this post long-term.
Responsibilities
The WASH Officer is responsible for several key functions including programme development and planning, ensuring effective and efficient programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results. They provide essential technical and operational support for the implementation of WASH programmes. A critical aspect of the role involves humanitarian WASH preparedness and response, ensuring readiness for and effective action during emergencies. The officer will also focus on networking and partnership building to strengthen WASH initiatives. Furthermore, the role encompasses innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the WASH sector, contributing to the overall effectiveness and sustainability of UNICEF's work in the State of Palestine.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
