Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to strengthen environmental and climate management, education, strategic communication, and inter-institutional coordination within Bolivia. The consultant will support the design, implementation, and monitoring of actions focused on environmental management, climate education, public awareness, and social mobilization, with a special emphasis on the participation of children, adolescents, and youth. This role involves developing and disseminating technical and communication content on climate change, forest fire prevention, environmental protection, climate resilience, and climate financing, ensuring alignment with national and international commitments.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance for the design, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of actions to strengthen environmental management, environmental and climate education, strategic communication, public awareness, and social mobilization, with an emphasis on the participation of children, adolescents, and youth (NNAJ). Develop and disseminate technical and communication content related to climate change, forest fire prevention, integrated fire management, environmental protection, climate resilience, climate financing, and compliance with international environmental commitments. Articulate with autonomous territorial entities, municipal governments, governorates, educational institutions, and other relevant actors to strengthen institutional and territorial capacities, promote social appropriation of environmental knowledge, and facilitate access to public information on environmental and climate management. Provide technical support for the socialization and positioning of national and international instruments, policies, strategies, and commitments, including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the Paris Agreement, Escazú Agreement, Convention on Biological Diversity, Minamata Convention, and other climate action and financing mechanisms. Coordinate activities with the Vice-Ministry of Environment, Biodiversity, Climate Change, and Forest Management, as well as other public entities, subnational governments, international organizations, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and strategic actors linked to the country's environmental and climate agenda.
Work Experience
5 years of general professional experience in strategic communication, environmental management, environmental education, design and coordination of awareness campaigns, management of comprehensive campaigns with an environmental focus, and communication management in sensitive and high public exposure environmental topics. 3 years in developing and implementing communication strategies, educational campaigns, or social awareness processes. 1 year of experience in managing and translating technical or specialized information into messages and materials for awareness and dissemination campaigns. Experience working with youth on child, adolescent, and youth rights is desirable.
