Job Purpose
The Partnerships Specialist will support the UNICEF DRC country office in scaling up resource mobilization, reprogramming, and reporting efforts to respond to the ongoing Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak. This role is crucial for providing strategic advice and technical guidance to enhance humanitarian fundraising and increase the acquisition of quality resources from both public and private sectors. The specialist will play a key part in ensuring effective and equitable response efforts, particularly for children and at-risk communities, by strengthening coordination, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity in a complex and evolving humanitarian context.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Partnerships Manager, the Partnerships Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing proposals, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to donors. A key responsibility will be to drive resource mobilization efforts, actively engaging with current and potential donors to secure funding for UNICEF's programs in the DRC. This includes identifying new funding opportunities and cultivating relationships with public and private sector entities. The specialist will also contribute to strategic coordination, fostering partnerships with government counterparts, UN agencies, cluster mechanisms, and implementing partners to deliver measurable results, especially in insecure or hard-to-reach areas. Communication efforts will be vital to articulate the impact of UNICEF's work and advocate for children's rights. Experience in supporting active outbreak or emergency responses, particularly in challenging environments, is essential for success in this role.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in public affairs, programme management, resource mobilization, external relations, or private sector engagement is required. Experience in humanitarian, emergency, or public-health-emergency settings, including supporting active outbreak responses, is also required.
