Job Purpose
The Supply and Logistics Manager reports to the Deputy Representative (Operations) and is responsible for managing the supply chains of a country office and emergency response operations. This includes planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution, as well as monitoring of supplies, services, and construction works. The incumbent will collaborate closely with programmes to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children. Additionally, they will provide technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and partners on supply chain management, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of essential goods and services for children.
Responsibilities
Manage the Supply section, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Oversee supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution. Lead emergency response operations from a supply chain perspective, ensuring timely and adequate provision of essential supplies. Collaborate closely with programme sections to align supply chain strategies with programmatic needs and objectives, ensuring that results for children are achieved. Provide technical and advisory support to governments, national systems, and implementing partners on supply chain management best practices. Drive innovation in supply chain processes, products, and markets to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and evaluate supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's financial rules, regulations, and supply chain policies. Manage risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment within the supply team.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience at national and international levels in supply, logistics, procurement, contracting, administration, or other directly related technical fields is required. Understanding of development and humanitarian work is essential.
