Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) interventions for modelling climate resilience and WASH practices in schools in Uzbekistan. The consultant will work with UNICEF, UNDP, and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education to enhance children's access to equitable, inclusive, and climate-resilient learning environments. This role is crucial for reinforcing sustainable WASH practices and infrastructure maintenance through community-level SBC interventions, ensuring that community views inform proposed WASH solutions and contributing to the overall success of the Vision 2030 project.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the timely accomplishment of SBC interventions related to climate resilience and WASH in schools. This includes liaising effectively with national partners and subject matter experts to ensure project objectives are met. The role involves coordinating collaboration with relevant stakeholders, external vendors, and other partners to facilitate smooth project implementation. A key responsibility will be performing quality control for all envisaged SBC solutions, ensuring they are evidence-based, behaviorally informed, and tailored to the needs of the target schools and communities. The consultant will also support the systematization of a community feedback mechanism to ensure community input is integrated into WASH solutions, contributing to the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the project.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in communication, including in health/WASH communication and social behaviour change interventions, aligned with the areas of responsibility outlined in the Terms of Reference.
