Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical support for the design and implementation of child-friendly service spaces. This involves undertaking facility assessments, conducting community and stakeholder consultations, preparing construction-related documentation, and advising on suitable implementation modalities. The consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring that the developed spaces meet the needs of children and communities, contributing to UNICEF's mission of protecting and promoting child rights. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in construction and infrastructure, coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for conducting site selection and assessments for Child Friendly Service Hubs and Schools, ensuring suitability and safety. They will lead community and stakeholder consultations to gather input and ensure local buy-in for the project. A key responsibility will be the development of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and comprehensive technical documentation required for construction. The consultant will also undertake market research and review implementation strategies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. This includes advising on suitable implementation modalities for the construction and rehabilitation works. The role requires a commitment to UNICEF's safeguarding and PSEA standards throughout all activities. Additionally, the consultant will be expected to prepare technical reports and provide expert advice on construction-related matters, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and best practices.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure assessment, design, or construction supervision.
