Job Purpose
The Child Protection Officer in Les Cayes, Haiti, will support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of child protection programmes and projects. This role is crucial for ensuring vulnerable children and families have access to quality protection services. By collaborating with government counterparts, partners, and communities, the officer will contribute to strengthening child protection systems and achieving sustainable results in Haiti's challenging humanitarian and development context. Responsibilities
The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for supporting programme development and planning, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals and the equity agenda. This includes contributing to the formulation of programme objectives, strategies, and activities. The role involves managing, monitoring, and delivering results for child protection programmes, tracking progress against targets, and ensuring efficient use of resources. Providing technical and operational support to programme implementation is key, which includes advising partners and government counterparts on child protection best practices and standards. Furthermore, the officer will engage in networking, advocacy, and partnership building with stakeholders to enhance child protection efforts. Finally, the position requires fostering innovation, managing knowledge, and building capacity among partners and staff to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of child protection interventions.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management, specifically in child protection-related areas, is required.
